Rita Baunok is a Hungarian-born American photographer based in Katonah, New York.
Baunok, who holds an MFA in Photography from the International Low Residency MFA Program at the University of Hartford, has been working on long term projects for the past fifteen years. Much of this time was focused on series of visual documentation of stories, relationships and ideas about people and places. She savors the process of research, the joy of exploration and creating beautiful objects in her darkroom. Baunok's work is mainly black and white; printed as gelatin-silver, platinum and transfer on aluminum. Her photographs have been exhibited in the United States, Hungary and Colombia; and are part of several collections.
